The Land Registry website has recently moved into the central government website www.gov.uk and the old Land Registry website has closed. This has resulted in amendments being needed to a number of Land Registry forms. The Land Registry has also taken the opportunity to further amend the guidance on some forms to take into account feedback from customers and staff. As the amendments are to side notes only, the Land Registry will continue to accept existing versions of the forms indefinitely. Laserform will issue the revised forms in due course.

Land Registry telephone numbers are changing. All 08 numbers are being replaced with 03 numbers; the new number for customer support is 0300 006 0411. Find the full list of numbers here.

Land Registry Proper Office Order 2013
The Land Registry has announced that from 1 October 2013, you will be able to send your paper applications to an office based on your location, rather than that of the property concerned. Being able to send all of your paper applications to the same office should simplify the process.

"Free restriction proves a success" The Land Registry has announced that new form RQ introduced earlier this year has proved a success. "An owner who is not living and does not intend to live at the registered property can make a request for the restriction free of charge using Form RQ" which was introduced in Laserform as LRRQ. The Land Registry also reminded their customers to check that contact details on the register are kept up-to-date. You can have up to three addresses including emails and addresses abroad.
