Attestation of deeds with multiple signatures: the Land Registry has confirmed that where two or more people execute a deed, one witness may witness each signature however each signature must be separately attested. The Land Registry will raise a requisition on any deed that is completed on or after 18 January 2016 and does not have correctly attested witness signatures. More information

The Land Registry website has recently moved into the central government website www.gov.uk and the old Land Registry website has closed. This has resulted in amendments being needed to a number of Land Registry forms. As the amendments are to side notes only, the Land Registry will continue to accept existing versions of the forms indefinitely.

New Land Registry Application fees from 17 March 2014

Land Registry Proper Office Order 2013
The Land Registry has announced that from 1 October 2013, you will be able to send your paper applications to an office based on your location, rather than that of the property concerned. Being able to send all of your paper applications to the same office should simplify the process.

The Land Registry introduced this new form for use from 15 October 2012, designed to address difficulties conveyancers may have in securing execution of the transfer by each transferee within the timescales of a Conveyancing transaction. Form JO can be used as an alternative means for joint owners to declare the trusts, or to provide details to the Land Registry of an existing declaration of trust.

September 2012 - From 22 October 2012, the Land Registration Fee Order 2012 comes into force, reducing fees by an average of 10 per cent, lowering scale and fixed fees relating to nearly every statutory service.

April 2012 - Did you know that the Land Registry have introduced a new form (Laserform LRRQ - Request for a restriction by owner(s) not living at the property). This is now available in Laserform.
